McDowell Purcell hosted a seminar on "The Digital Workplace" on Wednesday, 4th March as part of its series of breakfast briefings. The aim of the briefing was to give delegates practical advice to deal with the increasing number of challenges faced by businesses in today’s digital work environment.
The briefing addressed the following topics:

Data Protection: Handling data access requests, monitoring employees' use of telephone, e-mail, and the internet, and the use of CCTV cameras in the workplace.

Protecting Confidential Information: Bring your own device policies (BYOD), effective confidentiality provisions and restrictive covenants, preventing solicitation of clients using social media.

Social Media: Role of social media information in the course of workplace investigations and employee dismissals, preventing cyber-bullying in the workplace.
