The Minister for Justice has confirmed the enactment of the Private Security (Licensing and Standards) (Private Investigator) Regulations 2015 (SI 195/2015) which extends the regulatory scope of the PSA to include private investigators. With the enactment of the relevant Commencement Order (SI 194/2015), it will be an offence to provide services as a private investigator, or indeed to advertise such services, without a licence from 1 November 2015.
