The Government has nominated Judge Mary Ellen Ring to be chairperson of the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission.Minister for Justice and Equality Frances Fitzgerald said Ms Justice Ring will "bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position of chairperson".The nomination will now go before both Houses of the Oireachtas for approval, following which a formal appointment by the President will take place.Please click here for further information.
