The NMBI, has launched new practice standards for midwives that will ensure safe and high-quality midwifery care for mothers and their babies. The new Practice Standards will replace the 2010 standards and will facilitate the skill set development of midwives in Ireland and ensure competencies are based on best-evidence and service needs. The new standards became effective on 05 May 2015.
