Professional background

Professional background

I am a solicitor specialising in insurance litigation and coverage disputes, with a particular focus on defending professionals, brokers, underwriters, and self-insured entities in complex and high-value claims. I joined the firm in 2025 as a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution team, bringing with me a strong track record of advising clients operating across the insurance, construction, and financial services sectors.

My practice spans the full spectrum of insurance disputes, from defending routine casualty claims to managing multi-party professional indemnity actions involving intricate liability and quantum issues. I have acted in proceedings before the District, Circuit, and Superior Courts throughout Ireland, and I am known for my pragmatic and strategic approach to litigation.

In addition to my contentious work, I regularly advise both domestic and London Market insurers on coverage and indemnity issues, often involving novel or technical points of policy interpretation. This advisory work frequently requires a deep understanding of the commercial and regulatory context in which insurers operate, and I take pride in delivering clear, commercially focused advice that helps clients manage risk and resolve disputes efficiently.

Alongside my insurance practice, I also act for private clients—both individuals and businesses—in a range of commercial and reputational disputes. My experience includes advising on defamation, product liability, breach of contract, and other civil claims. I am particularly attuned to the sensitivities and commercial realities that often underpin these matters, and I work closely with clients to develop litigation strategies that protect their interests while achieving practical outcomes.

I also contribute to the wider legal and insurance community: I have authored articles on developments in personal injury and insurance law, and I deliver CPD-accredited talks to clients and professional bodies, including the Insurance Institute of Ireland.

My approach is grounded in responsiveness, clarity, and a genuine commitment to understanding my clients’ business needs. Whether advising on a single claim or a portfolio of litigation, I aim to provide advice that is not only legally robust but also aligned with my clients’ strategic objectives.
