My experience in financial regulation involves working on-site with a client (on secondment) assisting with a large scale investigation into breaches of contractual and other regulatory standards.
I joined the firm as a Trainee Solicitor in 2017 before being admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Ireland in 2020.

Big Tech gets Big Fine - Meta Ireland Fined Record €1.2 Billion for breaches of the GDPR

The Data Protection Commission (DPC) has announced a fine of €1.2 billion against US based social media giant Meta, the owners of Facebook and WhatsApp, following an inquiry which commenced in August 2020. The inquiry examined the basis upon which Meta Ireland transferred its user’s personal data from the EU/EEA to the US. This follows on from the final decision in the inquiry adopted by the DPC on 12 May 2023.
