Carpenter with mesothelioma receives compensation in four months

Frank, aged 76, was diagnosed with mesothelioma in December 2009. He contacted Fieldfisher and Dushal Mehta, solicitor in our mesothelioma and asbestos department, visited him at home in early January 2010.

Frank had been exposed to asbestos while working as a carpenter and joiner for 4 different companies: Provis Thorne, HC Janes of Luton, Carlton Contractors and Allen Fairhead & Sons.

We were able to trace the employers liability insurersat the time that Frank had worked for Provis Thorne and were also able to locate the successors to the dissolved company H C Janes.

One of the other companies, Carlton Contractors, was about to be dissolved but we managed to delay its dissolution so that Frank could make a claim for compensation.

Dushal Mehta concluded the claim in 4 months for £133,750 at no cost to Frank.

After the claim was settled Frank said:
