Councils set to offer Safer Urban Driving courses
London Cycling Campaign have reported that Council lorry drivers across London will be offered the Safer Urban Driving Court as of this year. The course includes an on-bike session whereby drivers undertaking the training get to see first-hand some of the hazards that a cyclist has to deal with every day when cycling in the city.
This is a welcome development in making London's streets safer, however cyclists still need more protection from other road users in London, with more segregated cycle lanes in busy areas and accident blackspots.
