APIL has reported on how the Ministry of Justice proposes to raise court fees with the cost of a paper application set to rise from £245 to £445. This increase could act as a barrier to justice for people who would otherwise bring a decent claim to court, who may eventually be forced to claim benefits as a last resort rather than claim the compensation they deserve. We urge the Government to rethink these proposals.
