Inquiry to be launched into blood donation vCJD

An inquiry is to be launched into the possible contamination of donor blood with vCJD after it was revealed that 1 in 2000 people in the UK may have the infection.

Currently donor blood is not tested for vCJD contamination, although certain precautions are taken to limit the risk of infection.
