The Ultimate Battle for the CAVSG University Challenge Championship
A determined team including Bridget Collier, Keith Cundall, Ronan Ballance, and Mark Glaister (a ringer pulled in by Bridget), represented Fieldfisher in the battle for the championship in the Cheshire Asbestos Victim Support Group's (CAVSG) University Challenge fundraiser on Wednesday 2 October 2024 at Daresbury Village Hall.
This saw the panel solicitors of CAVSG tackling difficult conundrums and fighting against each other for the trophy, all to raise money for asbestos victims suffering from mesothelioma.
The competition saw the University of Fieldfisher knock out last year's winners in the first round to reach the final. We got off to a slow start and were trailing the other finalists, before pulling back more than 100 points.
Despite our best efforts, the quiz ended and Fieldfisher finished runners-up. The outcome could have been very different had we been given 10 more minutes, and what a comeback it could have been! Overall, it was an enjoyable evening and a fantastic effort by everyone in support of a great cause.
