Transport for London are now consulting the public on proposals for two new cycle superhighway plans. The new North-South cycle superhighway offers a segregated cycle route between Elephant and Castle and Kings Cross.
There is also a second route running roughly along an East-West axis which would run between Acton and Tower Hill via Parliament Square and St James Park, connecting in the process to the existing Superhighway route 3 which runs east to Barking and Canary Wharf.
The proposals show the exact routes taken by each proposed Superhighway and include additional safety features for cyclists including kerb-segregated cycle tracks, banned turns for motorists, and new bypasses for cyclists.
The consultation is open until the 19th October 2014, and there are a number of exhibitions and events taking place where you can discuss the proposals with members of the project teams involved.
You can find details of the North-South Cycle Superhighway here, and the East-West Cycle Superhighway here.
