Employment Seminar: Codes of Conduct, Sexual Harassment and Employer Investigations in a Post Weinstein-Era

Our most recent employment seminar took place on the 2nd May 2018 on the topic of Codes of Conduct, Sexual Harassment and Employer Investigations in a Post Weinstein-Era.

Due to the recent media revelations that have shone a spotlight on the ways in which organisations handle allegations of inappropriate behaviour by their members and employees, the seminar aimed to explore the ways in which social media, rapid technological changes and a recent shift in the public cultural environment is widening the scope of an organisation’s responsibility and making it more challenging than ever for them to know how to respond.

The seminar covered the following topics:

  1. Legal obligations for organisations in addressing harassment and related claims

Speaker: Barry Walsh, Employment Partner, McDowell Purcell

  1. Planning and managing communications in a crisis situation

Speaker: Paddy Hughes, Acting Managing Director, Drury I Porter Novelli

  1. Creating a workplace culture that minimises sexual misconduct and empowers employees to speak up

Speaker: Orlagh Hunt, Independent Non Executive Director, FBD Insurance / Interim People Director, Virgin Media /  Human Leadership Consulting Professional
