New proposals on pharmacy dispensing errors and standards

New proposals in relation to pharmacy dispensing errors and standards would allow for a new defence against criminal prosecutions for pharmacy professionals, where they have made an inadvertent dispensing error.

It is hoped that removing the fear of criminal prosecution, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy teams will be encouraged to report more dispensing errors.
