More about the scheme
The scheme will begin with an induction week in our Belfast office, where you will be emersed into our friendly culture and gain an overview of what to expect over the next two years. This will be followed by a trip to our London headquarters where you will network with our Trainee Solicitors and Apprentices, attending numerous welcome and training sessions and a social event on our 9th floor terrace overlooking the River Thames.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work across several practice areas including Regulatory, Dispute Resolution, Technology and Data, Personal Injury/Medical Negligence, Corporate and Real Estate within our Cross Area Specialist Team "CAST". You will get the opportunity to work on high profile matters with our UK, European and US offices, alongside teams that are market leaders in their field known for providing a first-class level of service.
You will be joining our exciting team of Belfast based Legal Professionals who work across numerous sectors of Law providing support to the UK and European offices alongside our Business Services teams, gaining exposure to the amazing work that they do. The scheme has been designed to provide an insight into the vast career opportunities there are at Fieldfisher. The scheme is an opportunity to gain vital experience and establish your career in a leading international law firm.
You will be guided every step of the way, with support from your Supervisor, Belfast Leadership Group and HR/Recruitment Team who will guide you, nurture you and inspire you to achieve great things.
Our People Development team have designed a bespoke training programme, complementing the practical training you will receive which will include topics such as: Client Care, Company Law, Professional Standards, and Law Firm as a Business.
Our programme is designed to develop legal professionals who wish to continue a career in law without qualification. Graduates who successfully complete the scheme will be well-positioned to continue their career within Fieldfisher Based in our Belfast Support Hub, you'll become part of a vibrant and exciting workplace experiencing remarkable growth.
What to expect
Our aim is to give to you the maximum exposure and a variety of experience, which will include:
- Drafting letters and court documents
- Shadowing witness interviews
- Data extraction and analysis of legal contracts
- Proof reading documents
- Preparing electronic bundles and documents for court
- Legal research, reviewing evidence and expert opinion
- Participate in client onboarding and care.
- Engage in various legal projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors.
A bit about you
- A degree in Law with a minimum grade of 2:1
- Strong academic record accompanied by a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
