New partnership announced between Child Brain Injury Trust and Fieldfisher

A pediatrician with a stethoscope and clipboard talks to a man in a children's play area. A boy plays on a tablet nearby. Colorful decor and a clock are in the background. Two medical staff members in blue scrubs are blurred behind them.

The PIMN team has been selected to join the South West legal panel of two firms by leading child acquired brain injury charity, the Child Brain Injury Trust.

The work of the Trust is to provide information, support and advocacy for families caring for children with an acquired brain injury. This work focuses on improving quality of life for the whole family and enabling all children to live to their full potential.

Volunteers for the Trust work in local schools, hospitals and within the community to reach families affected by ABI. The Trust also runs workshops and training to increase understanding for parents, teachers, and carers of the challenges facing children with ABI, including mobility issues, sensory difficulties and ongoing fatigue and headache.

Rehabilitation is always key to helping a child regain a level of strength and independence.

Because of the medical negligence and personal injury team's breadth of expertise running claims for children who acquire brain injury through accidents on the road or in other public places or following negligent medical care, it is in a unique position to advise families on a possible course of action to achieve settlement where the injury was caused by a third party.

The focus is always on looking for the best possible outcome for the child by using interim and final payments to fund aids and equipment, therapies, rehabilitation and often adaptations to existing housing or purchasing a new home.

Fieldfisher is very pleased to offer its full legal support for families in the South West, including its Court of Protection officers, immigration lawyers and medical negligence and personal injury specialists, to support the vital work of the charity.

We believe our unique combination of professionalism and a sensitive, human approach makes us the perfect fit to support families working with CBIT. We also look forward to developing relationships with medical teams at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, which already works closely with the Trust.
