What is an Acquired Child Brain Injury?

An acquired child brain injury is different from a brain injury sustained before, during or immediately after birth, generally caused by delays in delivering a baby in distress. 

An acquired brain injury is usually caused by an accident, for example, a collision on the roads, or by medical negligence by GPs or hospital staff who fail to recognise and react to a serious illness

Types of Acquired Child Brain Injury compensation claims

Acquired brain injuries in children are most commonly caused by: 

• A road traffic accident, for example being hit by a vehicle when crossing the road or while riding a bicycle. 
• E-scooter accidents.
