Twins Trust report on UK experience of twins and multiple births

Two newborn babies are sleeping in separate clear hospital bassinets. Each baby is wrapped in a soft blanket, with one blanket in white and the other in light pink. The bassinets are placed side by side in a hospital room.

Twins Trust commissioned a State of the Nation report to analyse the experience of having multiple births in the UK as compared to other OECD countries (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development).

The report hears from 1,800 UK families about the impact of having multiple births. Alarmingly, raising twins, triplets or more is more difficult in the UK than almost any other advanced OECD economy, mainly because of a lack of additional support for parents.
