Fieldfisher has hired Neil Matthews as a partner in its corporate practice. Neil joins from the London office of Eversheds where he has practised since 1989 and became a partner in 1996. He was head of the firm's Equity Capital Markets group.
Neil has a wide-ranging corporate practice encompassing transactional work, corporate governance advice and flotations and fundraisings on AIM and other stock exchanges. His diverse client list includes a number of companies in the real estate sector.
His equity capital markets experience includes: acting for Abcam, Ilika, May Gurney, Norcon and Plusnet on their IPOs; acting for a large number of nominated advisers, sponsors and brokers on IPOs and other fundraisings; and acting for Apollo Group on its takeover of BPP Holdings plc and for May Gurney on its recent recommended takeover by Kier Group.
He also has wide experience in the corporate real estate and healthcare sectors where his transactional activity includes acting for Sunrise Senior Living and Signature Senior Lifestyle on a range of fundraisings, joint ventures, acquisitions and disposals.
