Fieldfisher is hosting Africa Week 2024, its annual programme of Africa-focused activities, between 14 – 18 October this year.
Organised by the firm's Africa Group, Africa Week typically explores the continent’s business and legal landscape in the context of global market developments.
This year's programme features a series of thought-provoking podcasts with prominent business leaders and commentators on topical issues including AI, energy transition and ESG compliance. Discussions provide engaging perspectives on how African countries are responding to changes brought about by the ascent of new technology, energy transition and a growing demand for new ways of doing business.
Cecily Davis, Construction & Projects Partner and Co-Head of Fieldfisher's Africa Group, said:
“Africa Week is an exciting feature in our firm’s calendar, showcasing our in-depth understanding of the region, its business environment and opportunities it presents for international trade and investment.
Growth in Africa is not just important for the continent itself - it can and should act as a real catalyst for growth across the wider world economy. This year’s programme examines a range of pertinent themes preoccupying African businesses and governments today. From AI to ESG compliance and challenges of running a mining business in the ever-evolving energy market, the discussions offer fascinating insights into how this dynamic continent is translating global issues into local opportunities.
My Africa Group Co-Head François De Senneville and I would like to thank all our contributors and our fellow Fieldfisher partners for developing this rich and thoughtful content. We hope that it will be of much interest to our clients, local partners and all those with an interest in Africa”.
