Fieldfisher has advised leading Italian logistics group Savino Del Bene S.p.A. on the complete acquisition of Hamburg-based Seabridge Transport GmbH. The acquisition strengthens Savino Del Bene's position in the German and European logistics market. A Fieldfisher team led by Dr Florian Streiber provided legal support to the company.

Savino Del Bene S.p.A. has stood for leading expertise in logistics and freight forwarding services for 125 years. Based in Florence, Savino Del Bene employs more than 6,000 people in 60 countries and has a turnover in the billions (2023: €2.7 billion). The group, which is always among the top performers in numerous logistics rankings, has made several acquisitions in recent years to further strengthen its position in the global logistics market.

With the latest transaction, Savino Del Bene acquires all shares in Seabridge Transport GmbH, an owner-managed logistics company founded in 1981 and based in Hamburg with a further office in Prague. Seabridge Transport offers worldwide transport solutions and specialises in full and part loads, general cargo, project logistics, food logistics, warehousing and distribution.

The strategic acquisition is an important step for Savino Del Bene to strengthen its market position in Germany and Europe. The legal advice covered numerous areas of law and legal issues and was provided by an interdisciplinary Fieldfisher team led by corporate partner Dr Florian Streiber. The team was supported by the partner law firm bpv Braun Partners s.r.o. on issues of Czech law.
