European law firm Fieldfisher has announced the appointment of Karen O'Grady as a partner in its Corporate practice, effective 1 September 2025. Karen joins from Sheridans and brings over 15 years of experience advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity transactions.

Karen has built a reputation as a trusted advisor, known for forming strong, lasting relationships with a diverse client base that includes early-stage growth companies, private equity and VC funds, family offices and entrepreneurs. Her work spans a wide range of sectors, including technology, media, FMCG, energy and hospitality.

Her notable credentials include advising on the sale of Magic Numbers to Analytic Partners, facilitating the acquisition of Aosphere by Endicott Capital, and supporting the £10 million seed funding round for Webb Technology Limited, backed by leading US venture capital firm Preatura VC.

Alongside her transactional work, Karen is passionate about mentoring junior lawyers, focusing on both technical development and personal growth. She is also committed to improving socio-economic diversity within M&A and venture capital and is currently working with her network to develop an initiative aimed at creating pathways for talented individuals from underrepresented socio-economic backgrounds.

Karen joins Fieldfisher's market-leading Corporate practice, which comprises 26 partners across Birmingham, London and Manchester, and over 150 lawyers globally. The team regularly tops AIM-adviser rankings and is known for handling some of the most significant transactions in the market, including advising Trading Technologies International in its acquisition of ATEO, advising Board Intelligence on K1's Strategic Growth Investment in AI-Powered Board Management Software Platform, Board Intelligence, and SigmaRoc's USD $1.1 billion acquisition of CRH's European lime and limestone business.

Neil Matthews, Partner and Head of Corporate at Fieldfisher, commented: "Karen is a highly respected practitioner with a strong track record across a range of complex transactions. Her arrival further strengthens our offering in the venture capital and M&A space, and her commitment to mentoring and diversity aligns perfectly with our culture and values. We’re delighted to welcome her to the team."

Karen O'Grady added: "Fieldfisher boasts an exceptional and highly marketable brand in the M&A sector, offering a broad spectrum of sector expertise, substantial resources across a full range of practice areas and an international reach, ensuring that transactions are executed efficiently and to the highest standards. I’m excited to join a team that shares my values and commitment to delivering outstanding client service and I look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the practice."
