Fieldfisher Brussels appoints Jean-François Germain as Co-Managing Partner with Claudio Mereu

European law firm Fieldfisher announces today the appointment of partner Jean-François Germain as Co-Managing Partner of its Belgian office, effective 1 November 2019.
Jean-François replaces Stijn Debaene, who was appointed in May 2015 and will be standing down with immediate effect, to focus on leading the firm's thriving intellectual property practice.
Claudio Mereu's appointment as Co-Head of the Brussels office has been renewed, having been first appointed in 2015. Claudio also heads Fieldfisher's EU regulatory practice in Brussels.
Claudio joined Fieldfisher in 2007, and has successfully built the firm's EU Regulatory practice into one of the strongest and most highly respected in Brussels.
Jean-François, who joined the firm in 2008, has been a partner since 2011 and heads the dispute resolution practice in Brussels. His team is one of a handful in the Belgian market to offer its clients a full range of dispute resolution services, including court proceedings, arbitration and mediation, as well as crisis management and (pre) litigation strategies, at domestic and international level.
