Industry leading team reorganised into 10 key practice areas to best serve technology clients and consolidate market-leading presence
20th October 2022: Leading European law firm, Fieldfisher, has announced the reorganisation of its top-ranked technology offering as a new Technology & Data practice. The practice, which has been organised into 10 key practice areas, has been formed to focus the broad talent across the technology team into specialist areas that can best serve clients' increasingly complex current and future needs.
Co-led by technology partner Simon Briskman and data partner Hazel Grant, the Technology & Data team comprises nearly 100 fee earners, including market-recognised specialists, working across Fieldfisher's 25 offices. It is one of the largest technology teams in the legal sector.
The ten key focus areas are Technology Transactions, Privacy, Emerging Technologies, Digital Transformation, Communications Satellite & Digital Infrastructure, Cyber & Security, Financial Services & Payments, Digital Compliance, Outsourcing & Projects and Digital & Social Media. Each area has been identified to best reflect the focus of the team and Fieldfisher's presence in the market.
Commenting on the launch, Simon Briskman said, "The Fieldfisher technology offering has a long and highly successful history. We constantly work to ensure we offer our clients best fit solutions and first class service that directly, positively delivers on their legal needs. This reorganisation helps us to continue to do that.
"In Technology & Data, we aim to be the first-choice law firm for clients and the first-choice employer for our team. Our new approach builds on our success as a market leader in technology. It best positions us to serve our core markets, anticipate future growth and respond to changing client needs. The strategy will enable us to deliver highly specialist skills and business results for clients while enhancing our colleagues' ability to use and grow their legal knowledge and experience."
Hazel Grant added, "Delivering for our clients is always a priority for our team, and this new approach allows us to do that in the best possible way. Our commitment to our clients remains focused, with client-centric thinking at the heart of everything we do. At the same time, we seek to create new building blocks ready for the practice of the future."
The technology industry continues to evolve and move into new areas that bring about challenges and opportunities for the lawyers that serve it. Growth areas such as digital transformation and emerging technologies are fast moving up organisations' agendas, and Fieldfisher's experience of advising in these spaces is class-leading.
At the same time, Fieldfisher handles some of the most complex instructions in core areas such as privacy, technology transaction, digital infrastructure, financial services and social media, which throw up increasingly complex and specialist requirements. The Technology & Data team's new structure will allow clients to better identify Fieldfisher's skills and enhance the team's focus.
