The week-long programme will include talks and hosted discussions from Fieldfisher's Africa Group, partner firms in Africa and representatives from some of the largest organisations operating in the continent, as well as influential commentators on African legal and business matters.
This year, we are delighted to be co-hosting events with internationally recognised names, including Grant Thornton, Globeleq, The World Gold Council, AgDevCo, Ricardo Energy & Environment and Ghana's Minster of Railways.
Full details of the firm's Africa Week events can be found below.
Commenting on this year's line-up of themes and speakers, Cecily Davis, co-head of Fieldfisher's Africa Group, said:
"The body of work Fieldfisher advises on in Africa continues to grow every year.
"African businesses are among the most dynamic companies anywhere in the world and their development is beginning to reshape international flows of trade, talent and professional service delivery.
"This year's Africa Week will focus on these shifts and many of the themes preoccupying African businesses, such as the need to power growth with sustainable energy, how to govern companies responsibly and how to protect commercial interests deliver future growth.
"We are especially pleased to be welcoming Ghana's Minister of Railways, the Honourable Joe Ghartey, who is overseeing an ambitious programme of rail infrastructure development in Ghana."
Francois de Senneville, co-head of Fieldfisher's Africa Group, added:
"We are seeing more and more international companies trying to establish a foothold in Africa, as a region with huge economic potential.
"For many, expanding into Africa is a step into new and unfamiliar business cultures, so opportunities need to be pursued with full appreciation of different legal and social expectations.
"After a number of years of running our Africa Week, we have become very familiar with the issues international businesses come across when entering Africa – and yet every year we learn something new from the experiences of our clients and partners.
"We are very excited about this year's programme and look forward to welcoming all participants."
