Paris' Head of Arbitration Marily Paralika represented Fieldfisher at the ICC seminar organised as part the second annual Tel Aviv Arbitration Day.

Fieldfisher has continued to raise the profile of its international arbitration practice, following a highly successful year for the team, which saw it instructed on a number of high-value matters involving partners and fee earners from London, Paris, Birmingham and Milan.

On 1 March 2020, Paris' Head of Arbitration Marily Paralika gave a speech at the ICC seminar organised as part of the Tel Aviv Arbitration Day in Israel – marking the second year this event has been held.

The seminar featured panel discussions on:

  • Trends in international arbitration;
  • ICC International Arbitration Court practices and measures applied to enhance the efficiency of the arbitral proceedings; and
  • Approaches and trends to allegations of corruption in international disputes.

Marily's presentation on tools for promoting efficiency in ICC arbitration focused on the expedited procedure provisions inserted in the ICC rules in 2017, their application, as well as the issues that have arisen since these provisions entered into force.

Other speakers discussed the emergency arbitrator provisions, summary dismissal of unmeritorious claims, and the role of arbitrators in acting as facilitators of a settlement between the parties.
