The UK Courts, and PD57AD, specifically endorse and recommend the use of Technology Assisted Review (TAR) in Disclosure exercises.

The term "TAR" is not mutually exclusive with respect to predictive coding.

TAR covers a manner of methodologies - when these are used in combination they can effectively streamline reviews, find relevant documents early, and reduce overall disclosure costs.

Fieldfisher's Head of Electronic Disclosure, Fiona Campbell has considered general TAR usages, including continuous active learning (CAL), automated document review, text classification, entity recognition and unsupervised learning, which can be used in combination for full potency.
