The evolution of ethnicity pay gap reporting in the UK: A timeline of progress and policy

Since 2016, the UK has seen growing attention on ethnicity pay gap reporting, beginning with the McGregor-Smith Review and followed by a series of consultations, voluntary initiatives, and increasing public and political pressure. Despite early momentum and widespread calls for mandatory reporting, government action has largely favoured a voluntary approach.
