New Directive on liability for defective products

Last week, the new Directive (EU) 2024/2853 on product liability was adopted, which will replace the current regulation, Directive 85/374/EEC.

The regulation substantially amends the current product liability regime, adding new economic operators and products of the digital age, in order to ensure a high level of protection for individuals and consumers.
