Professional background

Professional background

I have acted for a large number of high-profile inquests and inquiries over the last 10 years, including the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, Jermain Baker Public Inquiry and Litvinenko Public Inquiry. I also assisted Lord Dyson with his review of the circumstances surrounding the BBC Panorama interview with Diana, Princess of Wales.

I work closely with Inquiry Chairs, Secretaries and Counsel to the Inquiry to deliver large and complex investigations and public hearings, and prepare and publish reports. I lead and manage teams of lawyers at all stages of an investigation, from setting the scope to requesting, reviewing and disclosing evidence and organising public hearings to preparing reports and 'warning letters' where appropriate. I also advise witnesses and organisations on their involvement with and assistance to inquisitorial proceedings.

Many of the investigations involve confidential and sensitive matters, some involving national security.

I am a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers (ARDL).
