Professional background
Prior to joining Fieldfisher, I worked at a global law-firm where I gained experience both as part of the Solicitor to the Inquiry/Inquest team and acting for Core Participants to Inquiries. This includes acting for Core Participants to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and Infected Blood Inquiry; advising in relation to the Angiolini Inquiry; acting as part of the Solicitor to the Inquest team into the death of Sabina Rizvi; and confidentially advising a client with respect to a high profile independent investigation.
Before moving to the UK in 2020, I worked as part of the Solicitor Assisting team on a number of major statutory public inquiries in Australia, including the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety and the Special Commission of Inquiry into the police investigation of certain child sexual abuse allegations in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
I enjoy helping clients and witnesses to navigate their way through the inquiry process and have experience advising across every stage of a public inquiry – from advising on scope and purpose of the public hearing program; gathering evidence; managing large-scale disclosure and information management exercises; conducting witness interviews; advising on broad areas of regulatory and public law; advising on risk, strategy and policy; managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders; liaising with and advising Panel Members, Commissioners and Chairs of Inquiries – all the way through to developing policy for future reform and drafting inquiry reports.
I have also worked as an Advisory Lawyer for the UK Ministry of Justice and for a judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in Australia. I hold a Masters in Public International Law, Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts in International Studies.
