I represent borrowers, lenders and sponsors on major financings and disputes in each of the EU, UK and developing markets with a particular focus on energy and natural resources related matters in the CIS and former Soviet Union countries.
Over the course of the last seven years at Fieldfisher I have been engaged as the lead on numerous English High Court, LCIA and ICC arbitrations in the energy sector (including both oil&gas and mining disputes) as well as in the mainstream finance sector (including numerous disputes relating to defaulted secured and unsecured cross -border loans). In addition, I am actively engaged in the enforcement elements of such disputes, asset-tracing and eventual recovery.
With an active CIS specialisation, I am a leading practitioner in matters relating to Russian Sanctions - I am qualified as an English law barrister, with full higher rights of audience in all English Courts, as well as being a qualified and practising solicitor in both England & Wales and the Republic of Ireland.
The cases in which I am involved frequently involve multiple jurisdictions (offshore and onshore), but I am equally at home advising on domestic litigation. I have particular experience of various forms of injunctive relief, including worldwide freezing orders, and enforcing all types of security on behalf of lenders internationally.
