Professional background

I specialise in advising statutory and royal charter regulators and a wide range of Non-Departmental Public Bodies on all aspects of their work. I have particular experience in advising on compliance and discipline issues, often within the healthcare or finance sectors.  

I have particular experience in advising regulators on their registration and discipline functions. My work regularly involves advising on related issues including human rights, information transfer and judicial review. I have been consistently ranked as a leading tier 1 individual in the public and administrative and professional discipline sections of the leading legal guides.

I have been appointed by the Pensions Regulator to its Determinations Panel. As a former doctor I have an interest in drug use in sport and chair doping cases for the Rugby Football Union and have been appointed as legal chair to the National Anti-Doping Panel.

I was previously Senior Partner of Fieldfisher and chair of the firm's Supervisory Board for two terms ending on 30th April 2019.
