I am a former UK diplomat with over 40 years’ experience in international, EU and UK trade promotion and regulation, mainly within the UK government. 
 
My work has included: strategic and practical Brexit analysis and planning; reviewing or auditing compliance policies and procedures to ensure they are robust and tailored to the structure, resources and risks of the client; clarifying which regulations apply to proposed transactions and practical assistance securing the most appropriate licences; drafting contract provisions on compliance issues; handling breaches including internal investigations and preparing voluntary disclosures to regulatory authorities; support for corporate transactions, including due diligence of acquisition targets on trade compliance issues; and providing tailored training programmes and case-by-case advice on specific, complex issues.
