Digital Twins & IoT

Digital twins—virtual models of real-world objects or systems—are enabling organisations to make better-informed decisions, improve efficiency, and reduce both risk and costs. With recent developments in IoT (e.g., sensor technology and communications networks), and artificial intelligence and machine learning, we can obtain a real-time view of system performance, and predict and simulate how decisions and external factors can affect physical assets. Digital twins are a critical enabling technology for the likes of Industry 4.0, and smart cities and infrastructure projects; and have a huge role to play in aerospace and automotive engineering, supply chain management, and digital health.
