Graeme Nuttall was at the third HMRC Employment Related Securities Forum meeting on 14 May 2012 in his Government independent adviser capacity. He gave an update on his informal consultation on employee ownership. This Forum and its sub-groups are now influencing what HMRC does. Companies, advisers and professional bodies with an interest in employment related shares and securities ("ERSS") should follow the Forum's work streams on the Forum webpage. Chatham House rules apply. Topics currently under discussion include approved plans approvals processes, private company valuations, the OTS review of unapproved share plans, EMI guidance for start-ups, RTI, FATCA, the statutory residence test and share identification rules. The Forum helped with the new HMRC ERSS Bulletin. Anyone wanting to feed in comments or topics for the Forum can do so via Graeme or directly to Shareschemes@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
