We were forwarded this link by a client this morning, which appears to confirm that EU state aid clearance will be given for the high end television tax credit. We called the HMRC film tax unit to check their understanding, and the person we spoke to was not aware of this - so if it's right (and it appears to be) it's hot off the press!
Update at 11am: We have also received through PACT (thank you PACT) the following alerter:
"The European Commission (EC) has granted State aid approval that can enable tax reliefs for high-end television and animation.
For more information about the State aid approvals, the case numbers are SA.35563 and SA.35564. The decisions have been published and full details will appear here at the EC site."
