Fieldfisher Advises Simply Blue Group on Strategic Investment by Kansai Electric Power Company

Dublin, Ireland – 6 November 2025 - Fieldfisher is pleased to announce its role as legal advisor to Simply Blue Group in connection with its strategic partnership with Kansai Electric Power Company (KEPCO), which sees the Japanese energy major acquire a majority stake in the Cork-based offshore wind developer.

The transaction, signed in Cork last week and publicly announced on Monday, marks a significant milestone for Simply Blue.

Following the closing, the management teams of Simply Blue Group and KEPCO met with An Taoiseach Micheál Martin at Government Buildings to mark the occasion. Commenting on the deal, the Taoiseach said:

“This investment is a vote of confidence in Ireland’s offshore wind potential and in the talent and ambition of Irish companies like Simply Blue Group.”

Simply Blue Group operates across Ireland, the UK, the US, Spain, and Sweden, and has built a global reputation in floating offshore wind and sustainable marine development. Fieldfisher has supported the company on a range of strategic, multi-jurisdictional transactions with its lead investor Octopus, and leading energy partners including EDF, TotalEnergies and Odfjell.

This latest transaction underscores Fieldfisher’s ability to deliver seamless legal support across international markets through its integrated, multi-jurisdictional teams.
