Professional background

I am a commercial lawyer with over 20 years’ experience advising international and domestic clients on commercial contract arrangements, and have earned a name as a leading individual in the field of renewable energy development.

As head of Fieldfisher LLP (Ireland)’s Corporate and Renewable Energy Unit, I advise commercial clients on all aspects of their business arrangements.  I also lead our Renewable Energy offering, and have particular experience in the areas of wind energy (both onshore and offshore), solar, energy storage and biomass.

I have extensive experience in commercial contracts, outsourcing arrangements, shareholder arrangements, corporate governance, M&A transactions and venture capital transactions.

I have particular expertise in the area of renewable energy where I advise on project finance, energy regulatory issues, project sales and acquisitions, and joint ventures. My team has also won a number of awards for advice in the renewable energy sector including 'law firm of the year' in the 2017 Corporate INTL Global Awards.

I seek to gain a clear understand my clients’ businesses so as to put myself in the best position possible to provide them with practical and commercial ‘real world’ advice.

I strive to communicate in clear and unambiguous language. I never sit on the fence.

My experience as a commercial lawyer focusses on medium and large corporates operating domestically and internationally in sectors such as retail, manufacturing, technology, digital services, logistics and security.

My experience in the Renewable Energy sector sees me advise banks, developers (both private and semi-state), investors and other key stakeholders operating in the market.

The transactions I lead regularly require input from experts across the firm. This involves careful team management across the various disciplines involved, in many cases including our experts in data protection, employment and property.  My routine is to establish clear and regular reporting lines so that all team members understand roles, responsibilities, deadlines and most importantly of all, the client’s objectives.
