Our diversity is what makes Fieldfisher.
We believe everyone should feel valued and comfortable to be themselves - and we’re proud to share that feeling.

- Attend pre-programme workshops to help you feel prepared and supported from day one
- Build your professional network by collaborating with lawyers and experienced colleagues
- At the end of the scheme, you will take part in a Final Partner Interview for potential progression to a training contract offer with us.
We welcome applications from all degree disciplines. If you’re curious, motivated, and eager to learn - we’d love to hear from you.

Applications open on the 1 October 2025 and will close on the 12 December 2025.
If you would like to discuss any adjustments to the application process, please contact the Early Careers Team. We would encourage an early submission if possible. We review applications on a rolling basis so would encourage an early submission if possible. As with all application processes, there are several stages but our dedicated Early Careers Team will be on hand throughout the entire process to give you all support you need.
Your training contract is the start of the journey to becoming an exceptional lawyer and trusted business advisor.
As a Fieldfisher future trainee, you will be joining a hardworking, friendly and professional network, working one some of the most exciting cases and learning from the top legal minds in a diverse range of sectors.
Beyond your offer
We'll keep in touch with:
- Financial support: for the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) and Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PDGL) if required.
- Buddy up: you'll be matched with a current trainee who was in your place, a few years ago. Ask them anything – they understand.
- Early Careers Team: the professionals, here to support you throughout.
The shape of your training contract
Fearful of photocopying? We'll be there at every step of your training contract to make sure that's not your experience. Yes, some is inevitable, but we need you to show your potential with real, challenging work.
You will do four x six-month seats. Your choice: pick and mix from Real Estate to Personal Injury from Finance to Technology. No seat is compulsory.
And if you have your sights set on tasting life outside your allocated office …you can apply for a client or international secondment from your second seat. Both options are enriching. International secondments (in Berlin, Silicon Valley or Vienna) will introduce you to navigating cultural and regional differences.
Someone to watch over you
Support and guidance will make your TC. Each seat brings a new supervisor - a senior associate, director or partner. They are our most experienced lawyers on hand to guide you through and involve you in a range of client work.
The ingredients for growth and development? Experienced supervisors; regular feedback: regular check-ins (with your supervisor and the Early Careers Development Manager) are standard in every seat.
A generous package
Our reward and benefits package allows you to focus on your studies knowing we've got you covered.
Law school sponsorship
Don't stress about costs. We'll give you:
- Course fees for Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL): Although it is no longer a regulatory requirement, all trainees with a non-law degree will study towards the PGDL before starting the SQE.
- PGDL - maintenance grant of £8,000.
- Course fees for Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE): from September 2021, everyone looking to pursue a career in Law will need to pass the Solicitor's Qualifying Examination (SQE) and all future Trainees will undertake the SQE path to qualification.
- SQE - maintenance grant of £8,000.
With The University of Law we have designed a Fieldfisher specific SQE preparation programme, which includes an additional set of four modules, so we know you have the skills needed to support a well-rounded training contract and set you up for career with us.
More information on the PGDL and SQE can be found on the SRA website.
