Ian Karet continues as interim chair of the Charity Commission
Whilst the search for a permanent Charity Commission Chair is underway, Ian Karet will take the role from 27 December 2021 to 26 June 2022. This is following Martin Thomas' resignation on the 20 of December 2021.

Charity Commission urges donors to support registered charities when making donations to help those affected by the crisis in Afghanistan
Before donating, check that the charity is registered with the Charity Commission. The Disasters Emergency Committee has brought together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds for the Afghanistan Crisis Appeal.

Charity Commission for Northern Ireland encourages charities to file annual returns
The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland encourage charities registered prior to the end of May 2019 to file their annual monitoring return with the Commission. There is no legal requirement for them to do so, following a Court of Appeal judgement in February 2020.
