Fieldfisher advises BuzzFeed on the sale of its operations in Germany to Ippen media group

Hamburg, September 29^th, 2020 - Fieldfisher successfully advised the US media group BuzzFeed on the sale of its German business operations to Ippen media group. Buzzfeed's Berlin-based German editorial team will switch to the Ippen media group and will be further expanded in the future as part of a long-term cooperation between the two media groups. BuzzFeed is a US media group founded in 2006 and headquartered in New York City. With 150 million visitors per month, the website buzzfeed.com is one of the most popular media portals in the English-speaking world.
Ippen media group is one of the most successful regional newspaper groups in Germany and, with the Ippen Digital Platform, operates the largest network of regional online presences. The editorial network includes more than 80 portals across Germany in its portfolio, furthermore, daily newspapers such as Münchner Merkur and Frankfurter Rundschau belong to Ippen media group.
