Fieldfisher's European intellectual property team has again been highlighted as one of the best IP practices in the 2020 edition of WTR 1000 – the directory of the world's leading trade mark professionals published by World Trademark Review. Now in its tenth year, WTR 1000 is a standalone research directory that focuses exclusively on trademark practices and practitioners. The rankings are presented by World Trademark Review – the independent daily news and information service dedicated exclusively to reporting on strategic and legal trademark issues for in-house and private practitioners internationally.

Fieldfisher's IP practices in London, Belgium, France, Germany and Spain were all recognised for exceptional service and expertise. In particular, Fieldfisher's IP offering in London and Belgium were ranked in the silver band, with the directory citing that "Fieldfisher’s London IP offering is the cream of the crop", and “[Fieldfisher London] in addition to its stellar legal expertise, is characterised by its commercial acumen, approachability and combination of genuinely friendly individuals."

In reference to our practice in Belgium, the WTR 1000 guide wrote that they are a "European powerhouse, Fieldfisher LLP has a laser focus in the media, pharmaceutical, high-tech and retail industries and is renowned for its ability to coordinate effortlessly with its other offices to provide a more integrated approach."

Our IP practice in Spain is ranked tier bronze for "prosecution and strategy", highlighting that "the team provides a high-quality, cost-effective service and refuses to deal with clients at arm’s length."

WTR 1000 also highlighted several of Fieldfisher's IP experts across our European offices, namely; Matthias Berger, David Bond, Josep Carbonell, Leighton Cassidy, Stijn Debaene, Hastings Guise, Nathalie Hadjadj-Cazier, Hakim Haouideg, John Linneker, Nick Rose, and Harriet Seymour.

Commenting on the rankings, Leighton Cassidy, Benjamin Grzimek and John Linneker, heads in the Intellectual Property team at Fieldfisher, said:
"It's fantastic to see Fieldfisher's European IP offering highlighted again in the WTR 1000 rankings, recognising our cross-border expertise, vibrant team of IP practitioners, quality of service and leading client work."
