European Law firm Fieldfisher marks one year of Wellbeing Together, an international programme that saw Fieldfisher employees walk 112 million steps, run multiple marathons and roll out new wellbeing tools including the Maven and Changers apps.
Fieldfisher is celebrating the first anniversary of Wellbeing Together, a year-long global initiative designed to promote mental health, encourage movement, and build stronger connections across its international network of offices.
Launched during Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2024, the initiative was rolled out across all 23 Fieldfisher offices in 12 countries. It formed part of the firm’s wider commitment to putting its people and their wellbeing first to drive a cultural change within the legal sector where wellbeing has not always been prioritised.
Spearheaded by Managing Partner Robert Shooter, Wellbeing Together invited all employees to engage with a range of activities under three core themes – movement, self and community. From expert-led workshops on sleep and neurodiversity to firmwide fitness challenges and kindness campaigns, the programme gave people the tools and space to take care of themselves and each other.
Over the course of the year, Fieldfisher employees clocked more than 112 million steps as part of a firmwide walking challenge – enough to circle the globe twice! Colleagues across seven offices, including Amsterdam, Paris and London, also took part in a series of marathons. Meanwhile, teams in Brussels and Paris bonded over a basil-growing competition, colleagues in Milan visited local art galleries together and Belfast led a series of kindness challenges to boost morale and connection.
The initiative also focused on equipping people with knowledge and support to enhance their wellbeing day-to-day. Workshops with external experts included sessions on happiness at work, resilience, and neurodivergent inclusion, while new benefits were rolled out such as Maven, a family health app for UK employees, and Changers, a programme in Germany that rewards people for combining fitness with climate action.
While the formal campaign has drawn to a close, Fieldfisher has made clear its commitment to continuing the momentum. A network of wellbeing champions remains active, with many of the new benefits and practices embedded in daily working life. Wellbeing Together has shown that genuine care, creativity and collaboration can shift the dial on mental health – and that building a healthier culture starts from the top.
Commenting on the impact of the initiative, Robert Shooter said:
“Wellbeing Together was about more than just running events — it was about embedding a culture where people feel supported, connected, and able to bring their best selves to work.
"I am proud of the way our teams came together across borders and time zones to look after themselves and each other. This initiative reflects our values and our belief that a healthier, more human approach to work is essential for the future of our profession.”
