Professional background

With more than twenty years of experience as a litigation lawyer, I focus on pre-litigation advice and the management of all types of complex judicial and arbitration proceedings in the fields of civil and commercial law.

Throughout my career, I have conducted national and international litigation and arbitration proceedings before multiple arbitral institutions (ICC, IATA, CIMA, the Madrid Court of Arbitration, and ad hoc tribunals). My work has included actions related to contract and tort liability, corporate law, R&W claims and other disputes arising from M&A transactions. I have also handled cases involving unfair competition, monetary claims and declaratory actions. In addition, I have led and assisted in construction and building disputes, matters involving distribution and agency agreements, and actions in insolvency proceedings, particularly in the qualification phase.

I have developed my career as a litigation lawyer at various international law firms, including Clifford Chance and CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo.

Academically, I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in EU Law (D.E.S.S. – Diplôme d’Études Supérieures Spécialisées en Droit Communautaire des Affaires) from the René Descartes University of Paris (PARIS V). I also completed two years of Economics studies at the National Distance Education University (UNED) and undertook training in financial mathematics at the Centro de Estudios Financieros (CEF) in Madrid before preparing for the competitive examinations for the State Attorneys Corps.

Some of my most recent cases include:

  • Legal proceedings for construction defects on behalf of a developer against the builder and the construction management team.

  • Qualification section in insolvency proceedings regarding the liability of insolvency administrators for the insolvency shortfall.

  • Legal proceedings seeking the annulment of a 20-year inheritance administration over a large estate consisting of significant business assets.

  • ICC arbitration concerning defects in the design, construction and assembly of industrial machinery.

  • Legal proceedings for breach of a gas supply contract on behalf of a business group against a marketer.

  • Representation of a foreign company sued in Spain for breach of contract and damages in a matter governed by foreign law involving the supply of an allegedly defective product.

I work in Spanish, English and French.
