Professional background

As head of the firm's leading equity capital markets team, I advise on a range of corporate finance transactions, including pre-IPO and secondary fundraisings, flotations and public company takeovers as well as providing general corporate law advice.

I advise brokers, nominated advisers and private and listed companies, both domestic and international, primarily on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange and AIM, as well as the NEX Exchange.

My practice is focused on the energy and natural resources sector, having advised mining, oil and gas, batteries and renewable energy companies in various jurisdictions around the world, including the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, South America and Africa.

I also advise clients in the technology, life sciences, financial services and media sectors.

Recent work includes:

  • Advising Sydney-based battery technology developer Gelion PLC on its admission to trading on London's AIM Market, raising approximately £16 million through a placing and direct subscription and a further £3 million for certain selling shareholders, giving Gelion a market capitalisation on admission of £154.4 million;

  • Advising Saietta Group plc, a developer of innovative electric motors for high-efficiency electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains, on its admission to trading on London's AIM market, raising £37.5 million via an associated placing, giving Saietta a market capitalisation on admission of approximately £102.1 million on admission;

  • Advising privately-held UK gas developer Hartshead Resources Limited on its acquisition by ASX-listed Ansila Energy NL;

  • Advising Cabot Energy plc in connection with numerous equity fundraisings to finance activities at the Company's producing oil and gas project in Alberta, Canada;

  • Advising ASX-listed Pura Vida Energy on a farm-in deal in relation to oil and gas exploration concessions in Poland;

  • Advising in-game advertising company Bidstack Limited on its reverse takeover by Kin Group plc and readmission of the enlarged group to the AIM market;

  • Advising renewable energy technology company Eqtec plc on a debt restructuring and equity financing;

  • Advising Kodal Minerals plc on a £4.3 million strategic investment; and

  • Advising Atalaya Mining plc on a fundraising to finance the expansion of its Rio Tinto copper project in Spain.

I am ranked in Band 3 for Capital Markets: AIM by Chambers 2022, which describes me as "a respected capital markets lawyer, with notable work in relation to fundraisings and flotations".

Legal 500 2022 recommends me as an "extremely approachable and highly skilled lawyer".

I am a qualified lawyer in England & Wales and New Zealand.

European law firm Fieldfisher’s Equity Capital Markets team has advised global energy storage innovator Gelion plc, on its successful and oversubscribed fundraise, raising approximately £10.5 million in gross proceeds. The fundraise comprised a Placing, Subscription and WRAP Retail Offer, with the issue of new shares approved by shareholders at the Company’s general meeting on 5 November.
