Professional background

My work ranges from providing strategic advice on discrete issues, to implementing large GDPR compliance projects and delivering hands-on DPO services.

I help clients navigate international data transfers, cookies/tracking technologies, adtech and behavioural advertising, regulatory investigations, use of children's data, data protection impact assessments, data breaches, marketing rules, data subject rights, data sharing negotiations and transparency requirements.

Secondments to a variety of clients have helped me appreciate in-house challenges and have shaped my approach. I focus on making my advice tailored to the client, pragmatic and tactical, bearing in mind the particular risks and opportunities they face.

I have provided data protection training to clients and to Henley Business School and I have written about data protection for publications such as Financier Worldwide. I am CIPP/E certified and a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

With a science and journalism background, I have particular interests in the media, advertising and life science sectors and regularly work with clients in these industries amongst others.

Away from the office, I love the theatre, cinema and exploring new places. I try to love running… with varying results!
