Professional background
I work in the areas of Franchising and Litigation. After graduating from the Central University of Barcelona, I began my career at a law firm in London, where I was introduced to Anglo-Saxon civil law and to the world of franchising and international trade. When I returned to Spain, I joined Bocatta as Assistant Director of the Legal Department, where I specialised in franchising at both national and international levels.
At Fieldfisher, within the Distribution and Franchising department, I advise foreign franchise networks entering the Spanish market, as well as national franchisors expanding abroad. I am a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and regularly participate in franchising-specific forums such as the International Franchise Association. I also attend the biannual meetings of the European Franchise Law (EFL) group, which enables me to stay permanently up to date with European legislation in this field.
Following the 2007 financial crisis, the collapse of Lehman Brothers, the nationalisation of Icelandic banks and the Madoff scandal, I deepened my knowledge of financial law in order to assist investors with their financial issues, particularly those involving financial derivatives. I currently combine my work as an international franchise advisor with banking litigation within Fieldfisher’s Litigation department.
