Professional background
As a lawyer specialized in restructuring and insolvency with more than 19 years of experience, I have taken part in high-profile insolvency proceedings such as Martinsa Fadesa, Reyal Urbis, Blanco and Factoría Naval de Marín. Throughout my career, I have built solid expertise in restructuring processes, insolvency situations, cross-border insolvencies, and special situations. I have extensive experience advising on proceedings involving financially distressed companies (insolvency, restructuring, and related litigation) with implications in capital markets and structured finance. I have participated in restructurings across various sectors such as mining, retail, food industry, transport, and manufacturing, among others, advising debtors, financial institutions, and investors.
Before joining Fieldfisher, I was Head of the Restructuring and Insolvency team at Deloitte. Previously, I served as Director in the Litigation and Insolvency Department at KPMG.
In addition to my work as a lawyer, I have also pursued academic activities and currently completing my PhD on preventive restructuring frameworks at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. I am also the author of several publications, a speaker at specialized forums, and a member of the faculty of various specialization programs in restructuring.
