Professional background

I advise domestic and international clients on a wide range of intellectual property disputes, including copyright and database rights; trade mark infringement; passing off; designs rights; breach of confidence; and technology disputes.

I also advise clients in relation to various aspects of brand protection, including trade mark portfolio management; clearance searches; and contentious proceedings such as opposition, revocation and invalidity actions.

I act for clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including media organisations and technology firms. I have a particular interest in the intersection of IP with data protection and competition law, and I have assisted with several matters in this area, including two high-profile cases in the High Court.

Prior to joining Fieldfisher, I worked for more than a decade in the news, media and entertainment sector (including as a producer for major international broadcasters) where I gained significant experience in content creation, television production, international IP licensing, and fair dealing. I also hold a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University in New York.

I can advise clients in English and Italian, and I also speak French.

I am a member of IPSoc (the society for junior IP practitioners) and a steering committee member of The Pride Network at Fieldfisher, promoting an inclusive and supportive environment for the LGBTQ+ community.

Currently representing Altana Wealth and its co-defendants in a claim for breach of confidence, misuse of trade secrets, breach of contract and copyright infringement against Illiquidx, in relation to investment opportunities in Venezuela. The trial is set down for October 2024 (IL-2020-000079: Illiquidx Limited -v- Altana Wealth Limited and others).

Currently representing videogame publisher Devolver Digital in relation to trade mark matters.

As a trainee, I supported the teams representing:

  • Genius Sports in a claim for infringement of database rights against Betconstruct, which settled in December 2022 when the Defendants agreed to purchase a licence for Genius Sports' market-leading data (IL-2020-000040: Genius Sports Technologies Limited & Ors -v- Soft Construct (Malta) Limited & Ors).
  • MGA Entertainment in a claim for unjustified threats of patent infringement, alongside parallel competition law claims against Cabo Concepts. The trial is set down for October 2024 (HP-2020-000016: Cabo Concepts Limited -v- MGA Entertainment (UK) Limited and another).
